Fruits de la Passion is five-star passion and heart

If you’ve never seen burlesque, or are a seasoned professional, you will love this show (circa everyone will love this show). This is five star Fringe.

Fruits de la Passion is a riotous hour filled with laughter and awe – balanced with moments of tender storytelling from the women who, behind the tassels, have complex and diverse backgrounds. They are stories about women, by women, celebrating what it means to be women.

Fruits de la Passion.

Heralding from the little-known island of New Caledonia, our performers shine in both individual acts and troupe performances. While technically meeting the ‘burlesque’ brief, through playful teasing and tantalising, the choreography, music, and stage presence of the Fruits de la Passion women take you on a journey so far beyond burlesque.

The costumes and prop work alone is extraordinary. If there is a sequin or feather boa left in New Caledonia I’d be shocked.

What makes Fruits de la Passion different from other burlesque performances is that the energy they bring is not to ‘push buttons’ or treat you as a naughty voyeur which is inherently alienating. Instead, each time they step onto the stage it is to share their passion and bring you joy. You’d be hard pressed not to immediately profess your love for them at the end of the show.

Like any burlesque show, this is rated ‘very hot’, but don’t let that scare you. Fruits de la Passion is Fringe at its best. Take your best friend, partner or parents on three separate occasions because once will not be enough.
